Built around 1900, Crested Butte old timers recall that this was the home of the Rozich - Rozman family, John and Anna Rozman married, John Rozich was
listed in the 1920 U. S. Census as a farmer from Slovenia. After John' s death, Anna married John Rozich. Jean Strangfeld
Davis notes that the house contained the telephone office in 1931. Willard Ruggera, uncle of Rudy Rozman, could not
remember June and Ed Rozman living in this house, but did remember that Rudy Starika lived here in the 1940s and 1950s.
Rudolph J. Starika served with the Army in World War II, serving in Europe and North Africa. He worked as a coal miner and was married to Sophie M. Starika. The family moved to Canyon City in 1952. The present owner is D. L. Hunt. The Hunts use the house as a summer residence.
