509 Elk Avenue
This building was the home of the manager of the Company Store during the period of operation of the Colorado Fuel & Iron
Co. coal mines. The house was owned by ASARCO when it was involved in the town.  Nolan and Myla Probst have been the long  time owners since that era.
Mr. Probst first came to Crested Butte in 1949. According to title papers in his possession
Horace Tabor once owned this property.

Mr. Probst states that CF&I put stucco on the walls in the  1940's and enclosed the porch.  Original lap siding is visible
on the interior of the porch.
